Rod Mill

Rod mills are very similar to ball mills, except they use long rods for grinding media. The rods grind the ore by tumbling within the the mill. To prevent the conditions leading to rod charge tangling, the length to diameter ratio is maintained at 1.4 to 1.6. Rod mills accept feed up to about 50 mm (2 in.) and produce a product in the size range of 3000 to 270 mm (4 to 35 mesh).

Working Principle Of Rod Mill

Rod mill by the motor through reducer and around big gear reduction drive, or directly by the low speed synchronous motor through the surrounding big gear reduction drive, drive cylinder rotary.Cylinder body is equipped with the appropriate grinding medium and steel bar.Grinding medium under the action of centrifugal force and friction force, was promoted to a certain height, the fall down or discharge state drops.By grinding materials of feeding mouth straight into the barrel inside, by the movement of grinding medium crushing, and the product through the power of the overflow and continuous feed discharge outside, to the next section process operation.

Application of Rod Mill

Rod mill is widely applied in metal and nonmetal mine, water conservancy, glass and construction materials industries, mainly suitable for grinding various ores and rocks and artificial sand-making.
